    Bowling Anyone?

If you like to play games... just in time for Halloween... it's Cat Bowling.

No animals are actually harmed in the making of this game.

    Mr. Jack O. Lantern

In all the years that the man and I have been together, we've never made a jack-o-lantern.  That changed today.  Please let me introduce Mr. Jack O. Lantern.

The man, Jack and I sat on the front porch together this evening and drank some hot tea.  It was absolutely lovely.

    Crafting?

Chelty6 asked me what kinds of crafts I've done with my kids.  We've done a few things...

    1. We designed mugs

    2. We made photo coasters.

    3. We took crazy pictures.

    4. We are currently making a movie.

Now, item #1 was done with all my students.  I found the mugs at Hobby Lobby.  My idea was to have all the kids make their own pictures and then place their own images in the mugs.  So I cut strips of paper to fit the cup, purchased cool stickers and markers and let them make their own cups.  They had a really good time doing this, some of the kids preferred just coloring the images that came with the cups, but we made our own too.  It was a lot of fun.

Item #2 - I have two girls who are very creative, but we couldn't decide what game to play, so I brought over some pre-cut cork board squares.  We printed some 4x6 pictures, cut the pictures to fit the 4x4 cork squares, and then used spray glue to stick the pictures to the squares.  Then we cut and placed a clear piece of laminate over the picture.  Wah-la, photo coasters!  They turned out really cute.  The parents were amused because then you could take a glass and smoosh someone's face.  Then the mom decided that they were too pretty to use as coasters.  LOL.  It was a fun project.

Item #3 - I have two boys who have been here for a year and a half, they like to go out and take crazy pictures.  So we played a game of Pictionary Jr and then we went outside and took pictures of them pretending to eat a grasshopper, pretending to crash a bicycle, rolling down a hill, pretending to be a ballerina and boxer, and other randomness.  I'm excited about getting those printed.

Item #4 - I have two students (one boy and one girl) who wanted to make a movie.  I told them to think about it overnight and then tell me what they came up with the next day.  The next day they told me a traditional Korean story.  We modified it and then we wrote the script.  We started shooting it today.  It has been a learning experience for us all.  The father was not aware how much detail went into creating a movie.  We will finish (hopefully) shooting it tomorrow.  If I can get the parent's permission I will host a link to it in the future.

That's all we've done right now.  I'm still trying to think of new things to do with them.
