December 24 I love ChristmasI absolutely love Christmas. I love what it represents from a Christian standpoint. I also love the togetherness it brings. I enjoy getting to see my family, because unfortunately we all get so busy throughout the year it's just about the only time we get to visit. I also love seeing the looks of surprise on peoples faces when they open gifts. I love giving and receiving Christmas cards. I love the fun music.
I had a very great experience helping out the local food bank this year. Not only do they provide food, but with the help of the local newspaper they put together a Christmas wish list. People write letters to the foodbank, they publish the letters on their website and in the newspaper, then people in the local community "adopt" a family for Christmas. I only updated their website information, but it was really extraordinary to see all these families adopted for Christmas. People who otherwise wouldn't have gifts for their children got the help they need from people in the community who wanted to do something good. It was really lovely to see. I think the foodbank said they gave over 2000 people gifts this Christmas. I thought that was really special.
Christmas is one of the few times a year when people see the spirit of giving. It happens all year round, we just hear about it more around this time of year.
Merry Christmas Everybody!
May your 2008 be the best year yet. May everything you set your hands to do prosper. May you have plenty of food on your tables. May you have smiles from strangers and realatives. May you have green lights all the way to work, and may you always get a good parking spot. I hope that 2008 is the year that wishes can be made a reality for you.
Peace and God Bless. December 19 Chocolate TurtleDecember 18 All of UsDoc says he's tired of CatBowling. LOL I guess it is time to update. :) The children and I have been keeping very busy. I took them to a local parade. This is all of us! Aren't we a good looking group? Very smart children. Lot's of fun. They are learning a lot of English. The youngest boy (front center) actually corrected my English last week. My cell phone rang during class and when I was getting off the phone, instead of saying, "Goodbye", it sort of came out as "g-buh". He looked at me and said, "That not word. It is GOOD-BYEEE, not g-buh." I was very amused. He didn't understand why though.
