February 29 PhotosI got a new camera for my birthday/Christmas. I love my new camera it is a Nikon D80. I'm still learning how to use it and I find that I don't have enough time, but in short bursts I am getting to use it. Mostly I've been taking pictures of my Korean students playing basketball and then just random snapshots.
I've started submitting images to a magazine. Oddly enough, the images that I've submitted so far are all from my 35mm camera. lol
If you'd like to see my pictures and or vote on any of them, you can see them here:
I don't have a lot of images posted yet, but you can also see some pics on my flickr sites
Have a happy leap day!
February 14 Happy Valentine's Day"If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you've made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand."

While some people hate Valentine's Day for all the commericalism, I for one think it is fun. My Korean students and I created homemade Valentine cards for their parents and we made some really cool magnets. It was a lot of fun to make. They also told me about how they celebrate Valentine's in South Korea.
In Korea women give men chocolate or flowers on Valentine's Day. There is another day celebrated March 14th called White Day, where men give women chocolate or flowers. Traditionally, it was supposed to be white chocolate or marshmallows, hence the name White Day. That is not always the case, according to Wikipedia lingerie and jewelry have also become common gifts.
I hope you have a wonderful day! February 03 Getting "Lost"I was so excited this week. "Lost" returned to the airwaves. I had never seen "Lost" until this year when we rented the DVD's of the first three seasons. I think it is just a lot of fun. The characters are so "funny" to me - they could solve a lot of issues if they would just communicate, but that doesn't make good drama does it? Unfortunately, we had some type of insane weather and after the recap-catch-you-up-if-you've-never-seen-an-episode one hour segment the show began. It was 10 minutes in and then the sound didn't match the faces and then lovely bars and goble-di-gook started to enter the screen. Then after five minutes of that, there was blackness. ABC decided that they should just pull the signal. ABC returned to normal programing just in time for the evening news. I was very disappointed. I think I can go online and watch the show on their website. I think I'll do that this evening. |
