September 26 Stream of thoughtI turned off everything Except the light and the computer The dryer has finally stopped making it’s whirling and twirling noises I hear the clicking of my fingers on the keyboard I bit my nails again They don’t touch the keys anymore The man thinks I clipped them, but I didn’t I bit them He doesn’t like it when I do that I don’t know why I do it I know why I started To keep my mom from clipping them when I was little She would cut them too short It hurt I figured out that if I bit them she had no reason to cut them I generally don’t bite them though I stopped for a very long time I have clippers Sometimes it just feels good to bite them down I don’t get them too short Never into the quick Just to my fingertips That’s short enough Breathing has been difficult I feel like someone has their hand over my nose and mouth No one does It’s just a stupid cold I hate not being able to breathe My lungs feel raw To be gross about it, it feels like someone took a cheese grater to them The little side I guess you grate Parmesan cheese with that side? I don’t really know My mind feels okay But my body feels yucky I don’t like it I’ve missed a lot of work I hate missing work I feel lazy September 15 Kids and SupermanLet's see... what's been going on.... um..... weellll.... Lots and lots of tutoring. The kids are teaching me new words and when I use the new words it surprises the parents and they laugh. I have observed that children absorb everything... I knew this, but it's funny how one doesn't realize the things they say until it is said back to them. Luckily for me I watch what I say in general, but my youngest boy has picked up, "Oh my goodness," from me and the most interesting thing is he says it in the EXACT sing-song way that I say it when I use it. For some reason I use it when we are playing games, I didn't realize I was saying it until he said it back to me when we were playing Skip-Bo. It made me laugh. I'm very proud of him, he's starting to initiate conversations, he didn't start doing that until last week. We have not gotten to the point where he can express all that he is thinking without some help, but it's coming. I'm looking forward to it. The other children are all doing well. Does anyone have any ideas for some inexpensive craft projects? Several of my kids are very artistic and normally on Fridays we play games, but I was thinking they might like to build or do something. It can't be anything too girly since half of my students are boys. I purchased some mugs that they can color pictures to put in, I think they'll like that. I've thought about trying to do some scrapbooking, but I was overwhelmed with how much stuff can be used to make scrapbooks, and it can get costly very quickly. Even some simple science projects/experiments could be good, or at least something that can encourage communication. Next Topic: The man and I went to Metropolis. I kid you not, there is an actual town called Metropolis and they have a giant Superman statue in the town square!
The man got a little creative with the picture and modified it a bit, what do you think?
Hope all is well with ya'll. |
